MELVILLE, New York — (July 19, 2021) — Air Techniques, Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of dental equipment has announced a new product line of Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Nasal Hoods and Scavenging Circuits. As the market leader in dental air compressors and vacuum systems, this new product offering benefits from Air Techniques’ established and reliable line of high-quality vacuum systems.

There are multiple innovations that bring Air Techniques’ Double Nasal Hoods to the next level. The double hood design minimizes ambient nitrous oxide in the operatory while utilizing an oval exhalation valve that directs exhaled gases to the built-in scavenger “flow channels”, maximizing efficiency. These hoods focus on a “size matters” approach. The inner hood seals to the face to ensure proper gas delivery to the patient. A smaller profile provides improved “sight line” visibility for the dental staff and therefore allows better access to the oral cavity.

“Air Techniques is a staple in dental air and vacuum systems, Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Sedation is the next natural fit for Air Techniques,” said Chris Wilson, Air Techniques’ Business Development Manager. “Our new Double Nasal Hoods were created with design, material, and fit all in mind. We wanted to ensure these products functionality and design were comfortable to patients and performance provided confidence to practitioners.”

The Double Nasal Hoods are latex-free and utilize a universal fit with other double scavenging circuits. This allows for use of your existing systems with the new Air Techniques Double Nasal Hoods. Air Techniques’ Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Scavenging Circuits are fully autoclavable and provides for safer delivery and monitoring. They are also compatible with most nitrous oxide/oxygen flowmeters.

MELVILLE, New York — (November 27, 2020) — Air Techniques, Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of dental equipment, has introduced the only Extra and Intraoral Vacuum Solution, Mojave® Mobile. Along with new High Volume Evacuators, HVE Air Protect XL™ and HVE Air Protect XL Plus™. In coordination with these exciting new products, Air Techniques has teamed up with Dürr Dental and Dr. Martin Koch to scientifically provide conclusive results of the product’s effectiveness and the importance of aerosol and spray mist containment.

Mojave Mobile provides the best flow performance in one compact package. The powerful dry vacuum and air/water/amalgam separation are combined onto one robust main drive shaft. With a total suction performance of >12 SCFM, the Mojave Mobile diminishes and reduces aerosol clouds, thereby reducing the spread of infection. Its pump is strong enough to operate the intraoral HVE and extraoral aerosol funnel at the same time. The Mojave Mobile is a super-compact, transportable suction unit with an easy to clean fluid container.

Of the company’s recent Mojave Mobile product launch, Product Manager, Gregory Kass said, “We saw a void in the vacuum market for a product offering mobile spray mist suction with an air-flow rate exceeding 10 SCFM.”

The new HVE Air Protect XL, and HVE Air Protect XL Plus, are effective solutions for aerosol mitigation. HVE Air Protect XL captures more aerosols than conventional HVEs with its large 16 mm opening, offering more protection for staff and patients. The HVE Air Protect XL Plus has an ergonomic design with a unique rotating protective shield that adapts effortlessly to any treatment situation. Each HVE has protective secondary air inlets that provide the best possible protection against the suction system’s backflow.

The Air Techniques and Dürr Dental whitepaper, “Aerosol reduction by means of an intraoral spray mist suction – first findings from an experimental pilot study” by Dr. Martin Koch available to read and download on their website. The study covers; the Methodology, Characterization of particle emission, Influence of the suction system on particle reduction, Influence of the suction system on suction power (flow rate), Influence of the flow rate on particle reduction, Influence of the suction position on particle reduction, and final Discussion.

MELVILLE, New York — (February 17, 2021) — Air Techniques, Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of dental equipment, will be sponsoring the course “A Practical Approach to Aerosol Mitigation,” presented by Dr. Martin Koch for the first time at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting. This relative course is open to anyone who registers to attend the virtual Midwinter meeting, CLV204. Dr. Koch will be presenting on Friday, February 26 at 10:00 AM Central, and attendees will receive CEU (1). Air Techniques will also be showcasing at virtual booth #305.

This course offers the perfect opportunity for dental professionals to learn about the increased risk of exposure to dental aerosols if not treated correctly. Dental aerosols and droplets are produced during dental procedures generated by dental instruments, namely turbine, and power water jet devices. In this presentation, Dr. Martin Koch will provide insight into the latest research and present the results of a study that is being conducted.

Attendees will be able to identify the risks and properties of dental aerosol particles. Recognizing these risks is key to understanding why effective treatment procedures are essential in keeping the operatory a safe working environment. You will be able to successfully implement needed measures that will significantly reduce or eliminate dental aerosol risk. This course is open to anyone who registers for the Chicago Virtual Midwinter Meeting.

Dr. Koch studied Biology at the University of Hohenheim and then received his doctorate in Biotechnology from RWTH Aachen University. He is a respected lecturer and since 2001 has held the position of Head of the Technical Academy at Durr Dental.

MELVILLE, New York — (February 25, 2021) — Air Techniques, Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of dental equipment is debuting a new Vent-Less Vacuum System series at the Virtual Midwinter Meeting. These new Mojave Vent-Less and VacStar Vent-Less systems are an industry-first dental vacuum exhaust air filtration. Air Techniques will also be showcasing at virtual booth #305.

These new models are ideal for high-rise buildings, current offices without vents, and any office that wants to upgrade its vacuum system. Each model has a medical-grade ULPA filter with a 99.995% retention rate, ensuring it safe to exhaust directly into the mechanical room. No longer is the practice restricted by mechanical rooms that cannot externally vent.

Mojave and VacStar Vent-Less Systems take away the need for installing a costly vent line. The Air Techniques proprietary designed Exhaust ULPA Filter with Diffuser guarantees maximum airflow from your vacuum equipment, while also helping to eliminate biological cross-contamination. It will keep your practice and surrounding shared areas free of infectious airborne pollutants. Like other Air Techniques utility equipment, these systems only require an easy filter change once per year.

Air Techniques is proud to be sponsoring the course “A Practical Approach to Aerosol Mitigation,” presented by Dr.

This course offers the perfect opportunity for dental professionals to learn about the increased risk of exposure to dental aerosols if not treated correctly. In this presentation, Dr. Martin Koch will provide insight into the latest research and present the results of a study that is being conducted.
